Moving On......

Been telling others to move on...its about time for me to move on too.

The last few months, I have been thinking of moving away .... out of Singapore for a while. How long, I am really not sure. I want to go away for a while, and if the environment suits me, I will come back and then pack and go.....

Some friends are concerned and not sure if I should do that. Also, there are some friends who support my plan.....

Of course, there's family and friends here and am I prepared to give up? I do not think it's giving up. I can always be in contact with family. There are some friends that are worth giving up, though! Hahahahahah

I made some new friends and few of them have grown to be very close to me. If I move on, these are the people that I will miss a lot. They have become a part of my life ... in fact, I actually cannot bear to leave them...

天下没有不散的宴席。They will move on in their lives, with or without me. I am grateful that they have been an important part of my life and that memory will last forever.

I may have a plan but no one knows the future. I may move on, I may not. Events could happen and change my plan.

At this moment, I have a plan. I plan to work towards it....

Last Saturday...17 Jan

Went with Johnson for morning walk at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. So many people! It was interesting! We visited 2 quarries ..did not realise that we have them here! Also, visited the Wallace Education Centre at Diary Farm Road.... quite tired with all the walking but an interesting morning outing!

My 'son' called and wanted to go K. Called a few others and finally went to the new K Suites at Iluma - a boutique K place by K Box! The room was nice...there was a small room for Internet surfing within the room! Also, they have blankets! The room has 2 screens, one for customer singing while sitting down and one for while standing up.

Managed to get Derrick, Raymond and Alan to come along! They had a ball of a time! They sang from 2pm - 8pm! Lots of screaming! Poor me...have to put up with that.....hahahaha! Though I do not sing, seeing them enjoying themselves was good enough for me.... Sometimes, I wonder why I organise.... I guess when I realise that the little I do make others happy, especially those close to me, the effort was worth it!

After K, we went to the nearby Fish head steamboat place for dinner. Raymond treated us! Good meal! Free! Hahahahaha! We had desserts as well! Free again!

The day ended well.....

Desserts

Went to Mushroom Pot for dinner....steamboat....a disappointment, though!

Decided to go elsewhere for desserts.....everywhere was crowded...ended at Blue Mountain Cafe... there had comfortable seats! Ordered the special mud pie and also the ice cream waffle.... they were h-u-g-e! The mud pie was really delicious!

The desserts saved the night! Even after quite a heavy dinner, he finished the dessert!

Enjoyable Tuesday

Tuesday has always been a special day..... it's 民歌之夜!

As usual, Raymond and I will meet up to go to Music Dreamer's Cafe (爱琴海)for the evening. This evening, we stopped over at St Regis to see the hotel room.....so beautiful! Richard is in town and we got to see his room! Indeed, a deluxe 5 star hotel!

The group tonight was really fun! Have always enjoyed listening to this group sing.... The group sings on selected Tuesday and Friday and we usually drop by on Tuesday night.

The chemistry between the singers was great! Tonight, they shared a little about the setup of the group and it was interesting to learn more about them!

The session was great!

Day Trip to Johore Bahru

It was a long day......

My 'son' , my 'nephew' and I met up at Kranji MRT at 11+am Took the Smiley bus to the Singapore custom. Surprisingly, there were few cars, hardly any congestion. Clearance was swift and we arrived into JB and cleared immigration/custom, without much delay!

Exchange rate was lower than before at $2.39 but still better than before at $2.18 - S$2.3. 1st stop was lunch and we took a cab ride to Taman Gardens vicinity for the famous Bak Kut Teh. When we arrived, the shop was closed! The staff were doing spring cleaning and the shop closed for the day! What a disappointment! Decided to go to the other shop to try. The place was crowded and it looked very good! Well....... the food was certainly not as tasty as the famous shop we patronise. I doubt I would come back again!

After lunch, we went to Terbrau City and decided to sing K. Spent a few hours there where Raymond and Small Ben sang their hearts out! The session was fun especially when Small Ben got 'high' when singing!

Jason & James came to pick us up for dinner at a nearby restaurant and then we went to Leisuremall for Raymond to buy his comics and then followed by foot reflex/massage at our usual joint. At about 9pm, the massage place was still very crowded!

Nick and friends came over to have a drink with us and then drove us to the JB custom and we managed to catch the last bus back to Singapore!

By the time I got home, Benderella's shoes were 1 minute short of turning into something else! Hahahahahaha!

We had lots of laughter's and fun throughout the day and this was the 1st time, I have brought both 'kids' into JB. Certainly hope they have had a good time, as well!

1st week of the New Year

The week started pretty busy with colleagues not in office and not enough people to answer calls!

1st Ming Ge session for 2010! As usual, met up with Raymond for dinner before going to Music Dreamer Cafe. The night was rather fun with lots of laughter's and songs!

Met up with Derrick on Raymond for dinner on Wednesday. Derrick drove us to Leisure Park for Japanese steamboat dinner. The meal was average, I doubt I would recommend that place! Went to Bugis for dessert and Small Ben came to join us. Lots of fun and laughter's whenever we get together!

Had dinner at TBP with Small Ben. He has the Kopitiam card and I used it to buy dinner! There's money in the card! Dinner was free! Hahahahaha! Raymond happened to be at TBP and we caught up for dessert! The company was great!

Dinner tomorrow with the Team. Boss is buying dinner....steamboat again!

My 'son' scored 6A's! Very proud of him! Keep it up!

Ming's Visit

02 Jan

Ming dropped by for a vist on his way back toHong Kong, from Egypt....

Met up with Ming & Francis, his travelling friend, in Chinatown. Before that, met up with small Ben and Raymond at City Square. A susally, walked them all the way to Bugis and then took a bus ride to Chinatown. Went to the Hawker Centre and ordered satays, some kuehs and chicken for dinner, followed by desserts next to Mac's

Then, brought them to Orchard road to see the lighting's before sending them back to the hotel.

03 Jan

Met up with Ming for breakfast. Small Ben was already at the hotel! Wow, he actually arrived before me! Well, Raymond could not make it on time because he overslept! Went to Seng Poh market for breakfast. Really spoilt for choice!

Then, we went to Chinatown for the Flea Market. Ming managed to buy 2 'antique' watches. at a bargain! Wanted to watch movie but could not get tickets. In the end, own time own target till dinner. Andrew joined us for dinner at Marine Square : Suki-ya! Dinner was good and the company was great! We went to Esplanade for some night shots and then drinks at One Fullerton before heading back.

The long weekend has been pretty tiring for me...... but glad to know that they enjoyed themselves. Glad to have Small Ben and Raymond to help out. Have been spending a lot of time with both lately....one is my 'son' and the other, 'nephew'...

01 Jan 2010

Happy New Year!

Was at the regular drinking joint for the countdown and when the clock struck 12, lots of cheers and everyone welcomed in the New Year, 2010!

Was out with Raymond and Jason( a new friend) and we went for supper at the famous porridge place at Chinatown and then the nightmare started ~ hailing a taxi! So many people were still out on the street around 2+ in the morning and trying to get a taxi was virtually impossible! I tried calling but in vain...

We tried walking to different place but everywhere was filled with people waiting for cabs! We finally hailed down a cab, after 2 hours! Rather than leave them loitering around till day breaks, I invited them to my place . At least, they could use the bathroom, enjoy the air-con, eat/drink, watch TV program and use the computer! They left for home after 6am and I finally get to sleep! We did not catch any wink the whole night!

What a way to welcome 2010! At least, we had each other and were not stuck alone!
