Congrats...

A close friend's wife gave birth to a baby girl on 28 Aug and we caught up tonight for dinner. Well, the dinner was not to celebrate the birth but my belated birthday treat! Hahahaha!

I have known this friend since maybe 1988/9...... and all these years, though we have not really caught up often, we have managed to remain as close friends. Certainly very happy for him..... and wishing him and his family good health and happiness!

Get Well Soon.....

A dear friend of mine has just undergone an operation (cannot remember what it is for...sorry) and is not recovering well at this moment.

Even though he is not well, he makes effort to remind me to check on my health (always nagging at me, though. Hahahahaha!)

Just want to thank him for his concern and even though I sent him many 'sarcastic' sms (hahahahaha) ...deep inside me, I am thankful to have him as a friend.

Gathering..

It has been a while since our last gathering and tonight we met up again....for steamboat at my favourite restaurant (it has moved to Tanjong Katong Road)!

It was great catching up with Albert, Jerry, Wong, Tony, Richard, Gerald and Pobe (friend from Thailand).... the company was great!

A Pleasant Surprise...

Tonight.... I received a sms from a very dear friend..... sending belated birthday greetings....it's a real surprise....very touched...

Count My Blessings....

Tonight, I had dinner with an ex-colleague , who is like a younger sister to me. We meet quite often for dinner.

We talked about our current job and also our previous job. We were both very happy in our previous job. She left for some reasons while I left to pursue my passion. She is not happy with the current job but she is unable to move on at the moment.

During our conversation, I realised how fortunate I am. My current job is something that I enjoy doing and so far, it has been smooth sailing (too early to talk about it actually..just a few weeks' old!) ; I have many close and dear friends... especially the families from overseas who took the time and effort to meet up in HKG.... and I got to celebrate my birthday with my 2 dear brothers...honestly....what more can I ask for....

I am indeed thankful.....

Clash of the Titans

This evening, something happened in the office.... One of the product managers clashed with the operations manager. It was quite ugly. Both could not see eye to eye with each other.

To me, I felt that the matter could have been handled better. Sometimes in the course of work, disagreement is common but as executives in the office, both must be able to talk it out and settle the issue.

Haiz... women..... hahahahaha!

Korean BBQ

Last Thursday, I visited a Korean BBQ restaurant in Bangsar, KL with my 2 brothers... Small restaurant.... the food was not too bad and the prices were quite reasonable.... check out some of the pics...

Hong Kong Trip..

Yes, I am back from Hong Kong!

Left on 17th early morning (6:40am) flight and arrived Hong Kong just after 10am..... very busy season...lots of tourists from mainland China... After immigration and custom clearance, took the Airport Express to Kowloon Station. 1st stop was Sheraton Hotel....not staying there...just leaving my luggage with Jack! Hahahaha! Went to meet up with Frankie for lunch and then had to meet up with Chartchai and Win who arrived not long after me. We went to the popular Wonton noodle shop (the same place we went 3 years ago!) for lunch/snack.... and then we went our own way for the rest of the day.... Took my luggage and went to Tai Koo...to Frankie's new apartment. We met again in the night for food and then drinks .

Chartchai, Win, Jack and Joseph came over to have tim sum breakfast with us...great breakfast! Then, I had to meet up with my operator for some discussion while the rest went for shopping and massage. We met up again for seafood dinner ...... dinner was sumptuous.... lobster, prawns, bamboo clams... fish, vege, etc..... so much to eat!!!!!

We had a great time during dinner!

Had to get up early this morning to go to the airport to catch the flight..the rest stayed on till this afternoon and tomorrow.

Just want to thank Frankie and Wallace for being such wonderful hosts.... amidst tidying up the new apartment, they have to host me as well... ; thanks to the Thailand (Chartchai & Win) and Taiwan (Jack & Joseph) families for taking time to meet up in Hong Kong to celebrate my birthday... it was great catching up with all of you...much appreciated.

Final commitment fulfilled.

Big Brother

When I was younger, I was fortunate to have many Big Brothers looking after me. They did not ask for anything in return, except my friendship. They were always there for me, if ever I needed help.

Now, I am playing the role of a Big Brother. Like my 'predecessors', I do not ask anything in return, except your friendship. There are nice people in this world who are genuinely concerned and so you must learn to embrace such friendship. One day, hopefully, you will become a Big Brother to someone.

Fulfilling my commitments.....

It's the end of the week...and tomorrow is weekend! It's been a very quick week! Monday is orientation day and it's full day orientation at the Head Office.

Just looking forward to the coming trips next week. Made a commitment to be there and will be there.... knowing me.... sometimes I wonder if that is a strength or actually a weakness. I ask myself if the trip is necessary and realise that it means a lot to me... It's a wish I made some time ago and I am turning that wish to reality.

Many things that I consider important may deem insignificant to others. I know they are concerned for me and my well being. I thank them for that. However, I've made some commitments this year to others and to myself and I would do my best to fulfil them. Just two more commitments to go... and I have fulfilled all of them...

There are no regrets..... and perhaps it's time to move on....

Tiredness

Tired...tired...SO TIRED...! This is my most frequently uttered word!!! Hahahahaha! This is even more tedious than my previous job!!!!! Hmm..... I am really not young.... no stamina....but...... it's ok! I love it!

Got to quickly build up my stamina....... the Travel Fair is just round the corner and I have to get all the packages ready before the Fair and also all the training... I need to employ an assistant....... anyone? Hahahahaha!

Glad that tomorrow is a public holiday..... no work! Can get to take a break... and then prepare for Friday and then... it's weekend again!!!!!

It's a short week next week as well... and when I get back, it's FULL STEAM AHEAD!!!!!!

Dateline....

Dateline.... Dateline.... Dateline...... that's the 2nd most frequently used word in my job! Every project is urgent and every dateline is almost immediate! Haiz! But, am I complaining???!!!!! Well..... No! I love it! Hahahahaha!

At the moment, it's eat & sleep Australia! So many Australia packages to work out.....Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Cairns, Tasmania, Perth, Darwin,... did I miss any city?????? These are only Australia.... I still have many countries to cover!!!!!!! I better check the fine prints in my contract! Hahahahaha!

I just have to work faster than before....... certainly a lot to catch up to make up for the lost years!!!!!!

Settling in...

It's Friday! My 1st week in the new job is over!It's been a tiring 3 days! I survived! Hooray!!!

Before the end of the day, I am already tired! In my previous job, I would still be ok..... well.. I have not been so involved in planning for so long and it certainly burnt out lots of my brain cells! Still, I am fitting in quite well..... 1 hotelier came yesterday and when he found out that I only just joined the company, commented that it looked as if I have been in the company for quite a while!

Lots of email going out to overseas agents to inform them of my new portfolio and also to ask for rates/quotations.

It's going to be busy for me but I will still make time to think of my friends, and to call them once a while to say 'hi'. Friends are important, especially those who left their footprints in my heart...

I am the only rose among the thorns (or the thorn among the roses.... said my lady colleagues) but getting along with them is not a problem....( I am so sociable...hahahahaha)

Will enjoy the weekend and looking forward to the new challenges next week!

My First Day at Work

'Congrats....to your new job!'.... sms received from well wishers.... It's my 1st day at work today.... HELP!!!!! So tiring!!!!!!! Hahahahaha!

Well...there's no 'honeymoon' period for me... it's meetings with the bosses and then with airlines and working out quotation, running through packages and preparing for tomorrow's meeting with overseas operator! Did I say it's an easy job????!!!!!!! At the end of the day, I am already dead tired! I am really getting too old! Hahaha!

Many projects coming up and need to be ready this month.....need to go on full gear asap.... cannot afford to take my time......high targets to achieve..... why did I get myself into this???!!!! Hahahaha!
